S-Money has been working his behind off over here! I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way my master is turning out.....

Covered in loads of paneling and had not ONE but 3 drop ceilings!

They even panneled over two windows...still visible on the ouside but not inside! Who covers up windows anyway?

Oh and it looks like they covered up a door at one time...so that makes TWO exterior doors in this room. NOT COOL!

AFTER!

We still have flooring to do and window coverings for the large window not in the picture. The closet will get framed probably this weekend we we frame the addition for the closet and kitchen! But how do you not love it so far? I couldn't wait another second to share! S-Money's work is amazing!

Plans are a GO!!!

Good news peeps...we got our plans approved for our new kitchen and master closet redo.....cannot wait! I have loads of pictures that have inspired me for our new master and kitchen...ugly (I know surprising that there is still ugliness hanging around after 9 months) awning is at the dump and the ugly kitchen cabinets and master bedroom paneling will be joining it shortly! The time suggests....at torn up kitchen just time time for the holidays! Whatever as long as its a work in progress who can complain?
This weekend while S-Money is tromping around in the woods...I will be moving our master bed room and closets to their temporary homes....and taking BEFORE pictures! So excited I cant stand it!

You have already seen my bedroom inspirations my kitchen ideas are "Industrial retro awesomeness" (just like on design star when those crappy designers give their style crappy names!)

I'm thinking...white (cabinets...not because EVERYONE and their dog is doing them I could careless about what dogs have in their kitchens) because....light and airy and bright are my ideas right now plus they are timeless! Most likely slate flooring and at this point thinking concrete tops....cant wait!

C-dizzy!

So after living here nine months...I finally did some decorating in C-dizzy's room.

Her room at our old house had a toddler bed...so when we moved in here it was time for a big girl bed. In a rush to get it set up I just picked up a comforter set that was affordable and I liked some what. I got it home put it on and WOW not so much love....it was just a little to bold for a three year old in my opinion.

I LOVE white so this bold pattern was just too much for me. (I do know how NOT practical it is for Miss C but seriously whatever you only live once.)
The walls in her room are grey...Silver drop grey. I love this color in Owens room but I was concerned about it in C-Dizzy's... but its not so bad!

I know pretty boring with trendy bedding....not my thing.

So blah so boring....can a child even be creative in a room this lame?

One of my biggest issues when it comes to decor...is I want it to have meaning if I'm going to stare at it everyday. I want to LOVE what I see....and have it reflect us. S-Money and I are total minimalists....we love things to look and feel clean...NO clutter if possible....so although SOME may say her room didn't change much to ME it feels like the walls are going to cave in with so much stuff on them....but it finally feels like home in here and I'm pretty happy with how it came out over all.

I kept the same sheets that came with the set from target....just got a white comforter instead and made her a stacked coins quilt...it was fun to make and I think it came out ok with a little help from my Mom! I got the ideas here and here. (I picked my colors based on a scrapbook paper I really liked...I wanted pinks for sure but greens and oranges as well....)

The idea for the monogram wall decor from here. I thought it was the perfect way to represent C-dizzy! Plus I had the baby picture mounted on foam board and I really wanted to reuse it in her room! The other pictures are one of our family pre O-bizzy and then the two kids together! The letters I got from Hobby lobby...the little "C" I painted...the gold one purchased like it is...(it fell off the wall right after I put it up and broke...so I repaired and rehung)...the other "C" I used the scrap book paper I liked and decoupage. The other picture is her baby footprint dressed up like a fairy! It was mounted on solid brown in a brown frame so I used the same scrapbook paper as the "C" and spray painted the frame white!

This wall I was really concerned would be to heavy with the large painting on it but it turned out ok...the painting is the reason I used a few gold accents...gold is NOT my favorite but this painting is framed in a beautiful gold frame so I just went with it! It was my painting but thought it was fun to hand it down to C-dizzy! (Although gold wasn't my first choice I think it totally warmed up the room and was a great choice even if by default.)

That shelf looks a little high....it might be...O-bizzy gets into everything so I thought it would be safer a little higher on the wall. The topiary I had and was so happy the bottom was gold. I kind of think every room needs some sort of nature...real or fake its just a nice touch.

The little table and chairs my brother made for Callie for her birthday last year...she LOVES them. The cute vase is plastic can you believe it? I found it on clearance and the flowers were in my room but C-dizzy is always playing with them anyway so they made the move to her room and she was thrilled!
The picture above the vanity is a shadow box I have always had I just changed the back ground to match that of the "C" on her shelf above the bed!

It was such a fun project...mostly to find things from all over he house to tie things together in her room. I was lucky to have had a birthday in the middle so I got some gift cards to help with the things I did purchase for her. I still hope to do a few things...make a small curtain for her window....(S-Money hates curtains...so it has to be cool.) Change out the knobs on her dresser...something shiny or sparklie will be perfect. Hang her chandelier...but I need it to be hard wired in so the electrician will have to help me out on that! And I think a rug would be great in there! I also think a box spring is a must....now that I'm not worried about her rolling off I need to make that purchase!

The most important part....C-dizzy loves it and feels at home in there...so I feel like I did an alright job. Now to keep O-bizzy off that white bed!

Oh and I cannot forget the original room looked like this....

With good reason she refused to call it her room she wanted nothing to do with the lace curtains and sports border and I think two or three hideous shades of blue...and dont get me started on the carpet. Its made such a great transformation.

Livingroom up date!

So things with this room seem to be going at a snails pace...seriously I'm going nuts over here! I've painted it twice...swatched a bazillion dollars worth of paint samples on the wall....and it is just crawling along...I don't get it this room was supposed to be so fast there isn't much too it. Its seriously a glorified entry.
Ill post the befores a little early anyway...I'm anxious and maybe if I post them...then it will move faster...you never know right?
This first one is looking IN the room from the now "mudroom" that we are doing at the same time so it will hopefully be included in the pictures as I go along.

Wow this picture makes this room look even smaller then it is...that monstrosity that is in the corner was someones lame idea for storage a million selves...and a closet WOW it was big...and is now GONE! I don't think saying BIG does it justice...seriously people this ONE unit filled up the trailer...it was massive. The door straight ahead is the master bedroom....the door to the right is the hall to the kitchen and rest of the house. FYI not my blue couch I'm nearly positive that they built the house around it!
The other side of the room looking from the master out looks like this....

The lovely valance above the window was complete with fluorescent lights....I know awesome...plus the window itself was infested with ANTS a lot of them....a ton of ants. So gross for so many reasons I'm so happy both the valance and old window...ok and the ants are all gone!! YAY! We originally took this window OUT can were not going to replace it because we are going to put a wood stove in this room and picked that corner for it. Then we changed our minds cut out the drywall and put the window BACK in...(a new window of course) and I'm glad for it. I love all the natural light we can get!
The next view is of the window that is on the front of the house...it was built at a very strange angle half window half planter outside....notice there is NO front door in this room....on the front of the house...we fixed that YAY! Oh and the ugly window had a GIANT valance exactly like the one above the other window only lucky for us...it was three times the size of the other one...and that was all the lighting in the room...what?

So the outline of this room....put in wood stove....convert super strange entry (if you can call it that) into mud room, at respectable entry, remove hideous storage unit, replace windows, flooring, add can lights and ceiling fan PAINT! Doesn't seem that hard right? We have done all of these things before...WHY on earth is this taking FOREVER!
Here are some snap shots I took today....
MUD room area....

I do have a couple of pictures of this during the actual construction/take out door project but they will have to come later as I don't have them handy at the moment and I'm boring myself with this post.
This crappy shot is the new window....where ants used to live and the wall to the left of it...its an awesome grey totally worth all the samples I tried to find this one...I hope to use it in a couple of other places in the house.

This next photo is of the area were the built in used to be...turns out the plentiful storage in the bathroom sticks out into this room...so we have a really cool angled wall where that built in used to be. Sean put some awesome shelves in and we plan to hang a painting above them it turned out so great!

Tomorrow I'll take a much better picture of the entire room...its looking really good...just have to put the rock up that goes behind the wood stove...install the wood stove and do the flooring. I seriously cannot wait to decorate this room...its going to be so awesome. I've never had a separate living and family room...I'm totally looking forward to it!

Finally a respectable entry (and 25$ bargin front door) beats the interior door that was once the front door on this house...LAME! Of course Bocefus at his perch!

A Chair for O.

I found this hedious little chair on Craigs list...LOVED the curved back and modern feel...so I purchased!
(Just an FYI this might be the most horrible BEFORE picture EVER as if this little guy needed any help.It may or may not be a picture of a picture on my lap top...taken with my phone.nice.) Its the after that counts the most right?

A little sanding some paint and new seat and this little guy turned out pretty cute!
The final judge....O-Bizzy LOVES it!

FEATURED....sort of!

One of the coolest blogs featured my living room yesterday! I love Better After its so fun to see all the projects people are working on! I was featured yesterday...I'm not sure if the fact that she didn't use my correct name makes me LESS famous? Its room the room that was featured anyway not my name right?
If you haven't checked out Better After you totally should...I do...everyday!
My Sister in Law Andrea introduced me to Better After...and my living room popped up on her birthday!!! PERFECT..well if it was my actual name...perfect!!Thanks Better After! Happy b-day Andrea!

Next Project

So now that our first bathroom is finished we are moving on...to the Master bedroom! I'm particularly excited about this room....because its mine mostly! I have so many ideas for this room I never expected to have a room comparable to the size of my last one but lucky for me I will. Right now the room is covered in paneling much like the family room was! Lucky us! There are actually 3 windows in this room AND an exterior door. Two of the windows are covered up by the paneling WHAT? Not sure what the purpose of that was...we will be uncovering them and tearing out the paneling plus ripping out the built in dresser and closets. We will be utilizing the exterior door for an entry way to the new master closet and the entry to the master bath! My dilemma seems to be my color pallet.

In the beginning I so wanted a dark gray wall behind the bed...(my bed is white) then white linens. However gray seems to be the new red and although I LOVE gray I may be changing my mind.

One of my all time favorites!

I just don't want to do things that have been done over and over. I want things a little different yet timeless. I'm still very drawn to gray...so it isn't totally out I'm just considering a few other options!

For sure I'll be using a lot of white I just need to narrow down what I will be adding to it while keeping in mind this is also my husbands room so OUR retreat from the world should be feminine but allow my husband to feel comfortable and no like he has to leave his manhood at the door.....

Loving this one.

Stop boring me and carry on......

Is anyone else a little bored of the "keep calm carry on" print? I have to admit when they were rare I thought they were totally awesome (and if the proceeds from a purchase when to a good cause I would purchase one)...now they are EVERYWHERE on every wall. As I've sat at my parents house today WAITING on the freezer dude to come pick up my Dad's freezer...I've been cruising design sites and home photos and it seems those once loved pieces of art work are all over the place.

I get that they are in right now (I have to be honest I love how they make a fantastic color pop on the wall) but I'm feeling as though they are a little over used.
I have to say that although my walls are bare (and that is no joke...they are completely bare so maybe I have no room to talk) if I could actually pick colors and make up my mind about color schemes besides...gray and white and then felt good enough about said color scheme to actually add art work and decor to my home...I'd probably skip this fad. I'd like for my home to be a little different...you know then EVERYONE elses. I've always said if I ever do decorate my house (because all the dust finally settles) I want it to be...colorful but keep LOTS of white. The items that I choose to decorate with...will be things I love that have meaning...not just something to fill the space. So until I find those items....and the home improvements stop...well I'll enjoy the blank spaces that are in every room....because after all it helps things feel calm and that is what people are hoping for from a brightly colored print right?
On another note..isn't this wallpaper to die for?

I wouldn't say I LOVE wallpaper then again when I hear the word "wallpaper" this is not the tacky hearts and florals I picture....in fact if you are going to venture into the wallpaper world...you should some how be required to purchase from.a select few places Hermitage being one of those.

Taking on water.....again!

Seriously the redo of my laundry room cannot come soon enough....my sewing room might drown!
Have I said how much I love this house? I do really...sometimes so much it makes me emotional....sometimes I get a different kind of emotional when I think of how much work we have ahead....

Pretend this says something catchy about our finished bathroom.....

Finished...besides the decorating....(you know my favorite part!) This bathroom turned out so awesome...SO clean and SO white....LOVE it! After all was said and done we ripped out all the tile replaced a lot of rotted wood. Put a light in the DARK closet of a shower and getting the counter out of here was quite hilarious as it seemed the house was built around it. Then getting the new one in we had to take the door and much of the surrounding wall it was quite the task! Other then those few things the project went pretty smooth! S-Money did a great job don't ya think?
Maybe I should have accessorized prior to taking pictures but really I was so excited to show the world (or 4 people reading this blog) I couldn't wait!

Introducing bathroom #1:

Loving how the stainless top turned out. This bathroom is right off of the family room with the stainless mantle so we thought it would flow nicely. Not really sure what color accessories I'm going to go with....who cares really its one million times better then before and I LOVE it!

True Colors! (a LOT of them!)

The dust is finally settling from the family room project! I can't tell you how nice it is to have a place for the family to relax and play without fear of dirty carpet or other creatures! As and added bonus we FINALLY got some furniture...not sure I like it yet the tags are still on but WOW what a difference it makes to have some place to sit after SIX months of not being able to make a decision. I really heart furniture! I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to change my mind for a while! (pictures of that later!) (PS who doesnt love the smell of new carpet and new leather....awesome!)

So with the final touches going on in the family room....we have moved on or will tonight and Saturday toooooo the most colorful part of our home...the second bath its right off of the family room and its quite "custom" as a few people have put it....take a look you wont believe it....
TaaaDaaaa!

The window was bigger but we thought we'd like to put a mirror over the vanity so we cut the window down and put a smaller one in hence the plywood....the black wiring you see is the electric we will be running to the garage....handy we know!

In case you were concerned this isn't a half bath...it does indeed have a shower...its hiding behind the door so hidden I think Sean missed it the first time we looked at this place.....once he found it...he was sold.....its awesome....

In a super ugly showering in a dark hole sort of way...I mean it is a "walk in" right?.

Last but not least the floor again totally "custom" and I was super happy to see they tied it all together with a lone back tile....so classy!!!

I'm exited about this bathroom I LOVE really ugly befores they just make the after that much more fantastic!!!

P.S. S-Money is going to teach me to use the Hilti... (you know so I can be more invovled in the projects)sweet I'm sure it wont be dangerous at all to let me run a mini jackhammer!!!

Wish us luck!
